RWTH Aachen University against MeinProf.de

RWTH Aachen University is no longer listed at MeinProf.de. After reaching the second position in the “number of votes” highscore and leading various lists of top-rated professors and courses, the data protection officer of the university claimed the project to be illegal and limiting the professors’ rights.

As MeinProf.de is a non-profit student organisation, they decided to remove RWTH Aachen University from the project because they can’t afford a law suit.

Verständlicherweise kann ich mir aber vorstellen, dass das MeinProf.de-Team nicht ausdrücklich gegen den Wunsch von Herrn Hans Görtz handeln will und daher auf eine einvernehmliche Lösung aus ist. Sollte es nämlich doch zu einem Rechtsstreit kommen, so hätte das kleine MeinProf.de wohl eher schlechtere Karten als die RWTH. [...]
